ALF comes from Terra d'Alter which is in the Alentejo region in the South of Portugal, where the history of wine growing dates back to Roman times.
The project is led by renowned winemaker Peter Bright, who we've had in the shop to host a few wine tastings and is great! He's an Australian who has been making wine in Portugal since 1982, and who focuses on its native grape varieties made in a modern expressive style.
The ALF (short for Alfrochiero) is often referred to as Portugal's Pinot Noir. It has a lovely soft nose, full of red berry fruit, a touch of spice and is superb value for money.
