Hanspeter Zieriesen has built up a well deserved reputation for high quality Pinot Noir and Gutedel. Based in south western Germany in the Baden region, the vines run along side the Rhine river and the Swiss-French border. Originally Hanspeter used new barrels and with around 60-70% on all the reds, now the wines see less oak with more emphasis on the fruit.
This Pinot spends 2 years in large oak barrels and then bottled without filtration. It's moody Pinot Noir, it's velvety with a touch of smoke and earthiness, subtle red cherry and pomegranate.
