The name "Cazot" pays homage to the small, rudimentary stone shelters that were constructed in bygone days to shield vineyard laborers from harsh weather conditions and scorching summer temperatures. Today, remnants of these structures can still be found, either fully intact or in various states of preservation, scattered throughout this region of southern France
This exquisitely captivating white wine began its journey as a co-fermentation in a stainless steel tank, blending 65% Grenache Blanc, 20% Grenache Gris, and 15% Vermentino. To add a touch of complexity, a small portion of the blend underwent fermentation in used French oak barrels. The result is a wine that emanates freshness and exotic fruit on the nose, exuding delightful aromas of tangerine, lime, and pineapple. On the palate, the wine reveals a lively and vibrant character, accompanied by a pleasingly smooth texture reminiscent of homemade custard.
The wine's organic certification adds to its sense of raw flavour and honesty, exemplifying the essence of the vineyards, old vines, and the winemaker's commitment to minimal intervention in pursuit of excellence. Overall this wine is a fantastic example of minimalistic winemaking.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
