Grapes - Vermentino
From one of the rising star estates of the Maremma region, on the Mediterrenean coast of Tuscany.
The Vermentino variety performs very well here and this wine shows it's quality perfectly. Ripe and weighty but with a crisp freshness and hints of citrus and almonds.
Vermentino is quickly becoming the 'it' white wine of the past year and it's no wonder with authentic imports like this Verm from Rocca di Montemassi hitting our shelves. 100% hand-picked fruit from Tuscany that underwent soft pressing to enable to subtle, nuanced flavours of Vermentino to really shine. Aromas of white flowers, spice and hint of ripe fruit sit alongside a place of substantial freshness, citrus notes and an underlying character of almond.
The 2014 vintage can be defined by this juicy Malbec. Deep ruby with flecks of blue and even brick. This wine has a nose with traditional notes of crunchy plum, cherries, and chocolate cake but surprises with hints of banana and passion fruit. Super fine tannins and balanced acidity frames a palate of plum, blueberry and white pepper. Can be paired with light fare or heavier dishes, but also can be enjoyed alone.
