Aragón and Spain are the origin of the Garnacha (Grenache) and Cariñena (Carignan) grape varieties which go into these new wines from Vinos del Viento in Spain.

Michael Cooper is a “Vine Hunter” and has searched out high altitude, old-vines and dry farmed vineyards. Their unique microclimates and indigenous century-old vines make some of the most original wines in the world. This winery is super sustainable, focussing on biodiversity so they dry-farm, don’t use pesticides and use locally fabricated lightweight bottles made from recycled materials.

This wines is made from hand picked 30-50 year old Garnacha bush vines, grown in the higher part of the Ainzon municipality where the soils are calcareous and sandstone with reddish shades due to the high iron content. Deep and bright ruby colour with an intense nose displaying complex aromas of ripe dark cherries, red plums and hints of vanilla and spices. It is very well balanced, with supple tannins and a very tasty fruit concentration. We have limited amounts of this as we get it shipped from Spain so get it while you can.
