Weinhofmeisterei Spitaler, Grüner Veltliner Smaragd 2018

Mathias Hirtzberger initially embarked on a brief banking career before a strong pull back to his Wachau roots. His brother, Franz, had already established himself at the renowned Franz Hirtzberger estate in Spitz. The allure of wine production proved more enticing than the corporate finance world. Serendipitously, in 2014, an opportunity arose to acquire family vineyards tended by another retiring Hirtzberger in Wösendorf. Mathias seized this chance to create his own winemaking domain. His estate bears the name Weinhofmeisterei Hirtzberger, and he draws inspiration from heraldic motifs for his labels and wine appellations, paying homage to the local traditions. The labels proudly showcase the coat of arms of St. Florian.
