Lemon/straw coloured upon inspection, just miles from the Russian River and the cooling influences of the Pacific Ocean, it is modest on the nose, notes of star jasmine, opulent butterscotch, praline, pineapple upside-down cake and peach cobbler with nuances of candied ginger. With further examination, greeting the full-bodied palate with hints of white nectarine, , sweet oak and a suggestion of bananas. Whole cluster-pressed, barrel-fermented (partial malolactic fermentation), and aged 16-months sur lie in 45% new French oak. The wine displays a notable freshness and focus through racy line cutting through the creamy texture and concentrated tropical fruit flavors, finishing on a lingering honey-nut note.
