The Jean Durup Père et Fils company has no less than 205 hectares of vine crops established in 11 of the 20 Chablis communes, making them the largest family owned producer in the region. This allows them to produce an exceptional range of village, lieu-dit and premier cru wines, always with the focus on the best quality.
The Carre de Cesar is named for Cesar of Vendome, son of King Henri IV of France, and former owner of the Chateau de Maligny and the vineyards of this village, where the Durup family are based.
A selection of parcels across their holdings, fermented and aged in stainless steel to preserve the crisp mineral character. Reserved fruit plays second fiddle to the flint, chalk and seashell notes expressing the Kimmeridgian soil iconic to Chablis. The perfect wine for oysters!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
