I'm proud to be an Ambassador for Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, a role I’ve held since 2021 when I first signed up to walk 50 miles in May to raise money for their vital work.
Since then, I’ve walked 50 miles every year and taken part in various fundraising initiatives to support this incredible charity.
Animal welfare has been a lifelong passion of mine. I’ve spent my life rescuing and helping animals in any way I can. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK has faced the worst animal welfare crisis in history.
Rescue centres are at breaking point, backyard breeding is out of control, and instances of cruelty and neglect are at an all-time high.
There is a proven link between animal abuse and violence towards people, especially women and children which makes this issue not just an animal rights concern, but a human one too.
I'm determined to raise awareness, push for stronger laws, and ensure they are properly enforced.
Raystede is a sanctuary for animals of all kinds, offering safety, rehabilitation, and the chance of a better life. It costs £6,500 every single day just to open their doors, which is why ongoing fundraising is absolutely crucial.
If you’re local, I really encourage you to pay them a visit, it's a fantastic day out for the whole family. And if you're thinking about adding a new member to your family, please adopt, don’t shop.
I'm always happy to chat about any of the work I do and how we can all make a difference, every action, big or small, helps.
One day, my dream is to open my own animal rescue halfway house so watch this space...
