Basics One - An Introduction to Winemaking

Our new Basics tastings are all about demystifying wine and sharing knowledge in a friendly and informal way, with a different theme or concept each month.
For the first in the series, I will be covering the foundation of how wine gets from grape to glass and the different processes involved in red, white and rose winemaking. We will be tasting five wines and discussing how they were made and how decisions in the cellar affect the way they taste.
Don’t worry if you know nothing about wine or wine tasting, these events are intended to be completely beginner-friendly and I love answering all of your questions about anything wine-related!

Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
