In his Experimental range, Minimalist's Sam Lambson produces wines outside of the highly acclaimed Syrah that he made his name with. Made in the same precise but natural style, they are a brilliant opportunity to taste this superstar at work at a more affordable pricetag.
The Chenin Blanc is sourced from two sites, a warmer old-vine vineyard on granite in Paarl and a cooler site in Stellenbosch. After gentle whole-bunch pressing the juice is fermented spontaneously in neutral French oak barrels.
There is stunning balance here of rich creaminess with vivacious energy and freshness, wild flowers and minerality coming together in a superb total package.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
