The second single-vineyard Syrah from cult winemaker Sam Lambson, No Place Like Home comes from a 3 hectare vineyard in the cool coastal region of Elgin. They have embraced a high-tech method to split the parcel into four blocks, using a mixture of soil analysis and infrared mapping by drone, they harvest and vinify the four segments separately before blending only the best barrels into the final wine.
Vinified with a third whole bunches, foot-trodden to give a more gentle extraction of tannins and avoid bitter tannin from the seeds. After its natural fermentation the wine ages for 12 months in neutral French oak barrels.
An incredibly silky and refined expression of Syrah, with succulent red fruits, orange, pomegranate, spice and minerality. Tiny quantities and a raft of outstanding reviews from the wine press ensure this will sell out quickly so get in while you can!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
