Introduction to our wines by Country:

Argentina
We believe the Argentine wines have more potential than the wines of Chile. We are continuing to experiment with different producers resulting in some very pleasant surprises. The malbec grape variety is prominent. (43)
Australia
We continue to be impressed by the wines we have been tasting from Australia. Our shop is mainly european based but we have been increasing our new world wines, this has been made easier by the sudden emergence of some fantastic Australian wines showing regional differences. (86)
Austria
Austria is currently producing some very fine wines. These are great food wines balancing delicacy with a firm structure and minerallity. As a wine making country it appears to be enjoying some renewed enthusiasm from the consumer. (45)
Canada
We are open to tips and advice on the wines from Canada! (1)
Chile
A country that offers very affordable tasty wines. There are some big flavours for the price to be found here. (33)
Corsica
(2)
England
We have been more than happy to support the English producers found on our list. Most of the vineyards are located very close to the shop, this allows us to be updated with first hand information on the progress of the vineyards. The Englsih sparklers continue to enjoy much success and press attention. We are happy to say we sell more fizz from England than any other country! (14)
France
France offers the drinker every possible style of wine. Although it's popularity may be waning we still think there are plenty of exciting, affordable wines to be found. (261)
Germany
Being honest, this is probably an area we do not investigate enough,. This based on the commercial reality that they are not the fastest moving wines and maybe our knowledge could be improved. However we are looking to strengthen this range. (5)
Hungary
Possibly an emerging nation now for red and white wines, following the success of the Tokaji dessert wines. (2)
Israel

Italy
Italy offers such a wide variety of styles and flavours of wine, it can often be confusing. We find it a very exciting place to buy wine from, we are constantly impressed by classic producers as well as surprising new finds. We feel that there is much value to be had here at under £10 and many classy examples above this price. In a world of ever increasing alcohol levels it is refreshing to drink these clean, balanced wines. (176)
New Zealand
This is a very excting area for us, we have broadened our selection massively since a year or two ago. Try some of the rieslings and pinot gris wines as well as the ubiquitous sauvignon blanc and pinot noir. It is interesting to try compare examples from different regions. (27)
Portugal
One of my (Henry) favourite wine making countries at the moment. It doesn't always get it right or produce wine of excellence, but I think there is a lot of honesty here and wines that are very representative of the area they priginate from. We feel we have been very selective with our range, honing it down to some very good examples. (62)
Slovenia
A new country for us, we feel we have found some excellent wines from this country. (2)
South Africa
This appears to be an exciting time for South Africa. Never have there been so many good wines leaving the country, mainly from producers focussed on small prodcution of great wines. We like the combination of new world fruit and a european structure. (42)
Spain
We are currentlty investigating the many new wines us from Spain. This includes some of the more unfashionable areas such as Utiel Requiel and Jumilla. The Spanish wines offer an exciting learning curve once the taster investigates further than Rioja. We also can recommend highly enough our range of sherries, some of the best value wines on the list are to be found here. (63)
United States
Though not always the best value, the USA produces some classy wines. (25)
