All of the beers are brewed at Gun Hill, on a beautiful 140 acre organic mixed farm in the Sussex Weald. The farm has a history of hop growing and some survive to this day in the hedgerows.
Beginning back in 2014 where they spent a year refitting a barn, and installing all the equipment themselves until the first pint was then sold in January 2015. The aim of Gun Brewery is to tread lightly on the surroundings. They generate much of their own power from a 15kw solar array; heating from a wood powered boiler and the spent grains keep the local livestock happy. All the water used for brewing comes from a spring source deep below the organically farmed land. The water is microfiltered and UV treated to ensure its purity without the need for chemicals. It’s delicious and great for brewing.
Limbertwig started life as a one-off lockdown project but is now thankfully a mian staple of Guns's range. A crisp, thirst-quenching, easy-drinking, medium sparkling session cider. Brewed using five different local apple varieties, fermented with Champagne yeast, then blended with freshly pressed Gala & Braeburn apple juice.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
