Winemaker Peter Hall looks after 6 hectares in the South Downs national park, he also tends after 40 Lambs that graze the hills and vineyards. The wines are named after friends and family of Peter, he only makes small quantities of each cuvee.
65% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier.
This vintage is dedicated to a brilliant Guyanese poet, a dear friends of Peters who has lived in Lewes since the 70’s. A great performing poet and playwright that if you search you will find a veritable feast online to enjoy – the distinctive Patois, the Guyanese Creole intonations, wonderful poems and books, including some for children available in schools.
John was awarded The Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2012 and Grace was awarded The Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2021. A unique double-achievement!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
