We have stocked the wonderful Chablis from the Fournillon family for years so we are very excited to be adding their Cremant to our range. Made entirely from Pinot Noir grown in the limestone soils of Bernouil and Epineuil to the north east of Chablis, bottle fermented in the traditional method and aged on lees for at least 20 months. It is a lot of bang for your buck, a really smart sparkling wine with real character and influence from the terroir.
It opens with quite a fruit-driven nose, with green melon and pear notes alongside some toasty lees-age character. The palate is driven by its fine bubbles with some interesting chalky notes alongside the fresh green apple fruit. The nice fleshy Pinot character makes this more than just a light aperitif, it goes deliciously with chicken breast or grilled salmon.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
