Classic Style Organic Gruner Veltliner 2022

The majority of the Gruner Veltliner grapes used in crafting this dry white wine come from the picturesque, steep, and rocky terraces of Rohrendorf in Kremstal and its surrounding areas. These terraces are characterized by löss soil, rich in lime and sediments from the last ice age, which can reach a remarkable thickness of up to 35 meters. The vines are meticulously trained on high trellises, and the grapes are cultivated organically, with a careful hand-harvesting process.

The winemaking process involves destemming and crushing the grapes, followed by a settling period of 3-4 hours before pressing. The fermentation and aging take place in stainless steel tanks, preserving the wine's purity and character. This results in delicate aromas of poached pear and subtle white spice. On the palate, one can savour stone fruit notes and a touch of white pepper, leading to a gently textured, mineral-driven, and citrus-infused finish.

This wine proves to be exceptionally versatile, making it an excellent companion for a wide range of dishes. Whether you're enjoying Moroccan tagines or indulging in lighter South-East Asian cuisine, it harmonizes beautifully with a variety of meals.
