Mauricio Lorca belongs to a generation of cutting-edge winemakers who seek to go beyond the common standards. Mauricio is a pioneer in the production of unoaked premium wines. His philosophy is based on ensuring that modern vineyard management is used and he seeks to bottle exactly what nature provides.
This malbec only had 2,500 bottles made and we managed to secure a few. Fermented in clyvers (ceramic barrels), this is 100% hand-made by Mauricio and represents the pinnacle of a distinguished career of pushing boundaries. It is complex and displays the charm of violets, spices and mineral tones on the nose with hints of black cherries, quince, hazelnuts, black peppercorns and saddle leather. Still in its infancy, this wine already boasts wonderful finesse in the mouth with firm, fine tannins, clever natural acidity and quietly bombastic fruit concentration.
Yes, it is expensive. Yes, it is magical.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
