Our new Basics tastings are all about demystifying wine and sharing knowledge in a friendly and informal way, with a different theme or concept each month.
For June’s tasting I will be taking you on a whirlwind tour around Italy, trying some of the country’s classic styles and learning about the local grape varieties they are made of. With wine made in every region of the country from a myriad of different grapes, Italy has something to fit everyone’s palate, but it isn’t always easy to find! The tasting will include five wines from five different regions spanning the length of Italy.
Don’t worry if you know nothing about wine or wine tasting, these events are intended to be completely beginner-friendly and I love answering all of your questions about anything wine-related!

Sourcing Stock
Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
