Philippe Lancelot is a third generation winemaker in Champagne and took over his family estate in 2008. After tasting wines from the pioneering Champagne Fleury he converted all of the vineyards to biodynamic farming in 2012, using only organic products and promoting biodiversity and soil health.
The Cramant is pure Chardonnay from vines planted between the 1950s and 80s in the Grand Cru village of the same name, now well aged in this stunning magnum bottle. The maturity brings delightful richness in the form of almond and brioche notes, paired with the racy citrus fruits and mineral notes typical of great Champagne from the Cote des Blancs.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
