From the vineyards of the Cosse-Brissac family in Anjou, owners of Chateau Brissac, France's tallest castle, this is a charming traditional method sparkling wine.
A blend of 80% Chenin Blanc and 20% Chardonnay, with the secondary fermentation and disgorgement handled by sparkling experts Langlois in Saumur.
The aromas are typical of Chenin: ripe golden apples, acacia flowers and honey. The palate shows perfect balance between crisp acidity and a nice roundness of body, with persistent fine bubbles supporting the delicious appley fruit. A great partner for canapes, and can hold up very nicely with some richer flavours, it is particularly good with nice pates and rillettes.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
