Filipa Pato's philosophy is simple: create authentic wines without make-up to express the true nature of the vineyards they come from.
The Espirito de Baga is a revival of a lost style, sweet fortified Baga from Bairrada, made in a style similar to Port. The utmost attention to detail is used in the making of this wine: the grapes are carefully trodden by foot and the spirit for fortifying is brandy made from Baga wine.
There is a great abundance of ripe blackberry and cassis fruit, with tobacco and black pepper notes. Sweet and rich, with soft tannins and a hint of dark chocolate in the finish.

Words can't express the brilliance of Butlers or the thoughtfulness, expertise and compassion of their team! Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

Great Wine/Spirit shop with knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff
This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
