Burning Sky
This Firle-based brewery are known especially well for their saison and farmhouse beers but also make a range from pale ales and stouts.
Arise (440ml, 4.4%) - A bestselling pale ale, made with pilsner malts and wheat for a crisp and smooth flavour. Citra, Centennial and Amarillo hops deliver pine and peach notes and a balanced bitterness
Margot (440ml, 3.4%) - A lovely lighter style, brewed with their house saison yeast. Celeia, Nelson Sauvin and Moteuka hops give a delicious citrussy flavour profile, alongside a delicate yeastiness.
Loud Shirt
Since 2021 Elias Asimakis has been brewing deliciously full-flavoured craft beers just down the road from us in Whitehawk.
Like Clockwork (440ml, 4.3%) - Loud Shirt's core session pale, ultra drinkable with bright fruit notes from the Cascade and Mosaic hops.
El Dorado (440ml, 5.5%) - An American style pale brewed to showcase the flavour of the El Dorado hop variety, with lush piney aroma and bitterness balanced by sweet malts
Gun Brewery
On an organic farm in Gun Hill, East Sussex Gun Brewery craft award winning beers with a view to sustainability - they generate their own power with solar panels and brew using only water from their own well.
Numb Angel (330ml, 4%) - A classic lager, brewed in the Munich Helles style. Crisp, refreshing and low in bitterness. It's a multiple time Great Taste Gold winner!
Scaramanga (330ml, 3.9%) - An Extra Pale, perfect for sunshine sessions. Light zesty hoppiness and subtle malts make for an appealing style

Words can't express the brilliance of Butlers or the thoughtfulness, expertise and compassion of their team! Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

Sourcing Stock
Henry and Team managed to locate some difficult to find American wine which they kindly offered and I gratefully accepted. They truly differentiate by being able to surprise by sourcing stock very much outside the run of the mill.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
