Quinta do Piloto is the founding estate of the Sivipa group, and their biggest contributor. They supply grapes to Sivipa, but also make their own wines. These estate wines allow a finer expression of the terroir and grape varieties.
Made from local varieties; Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, and Castelao.
The grapes are sourced from a single vineyards area, namedVineyard of Sparrows after the local inhabitants. This classic Portuguese blend is foot-trodden in lagar and combines depth of fruit character and concentration from Touriga and Alicante, alongside structure and acidity from the Castelao. Fleshy plum and dark berry fruit, earthy, herby notes, and great balance between ripeness and freshness.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
