The Sambardier family now have 35 hectares of vineyards with the 19ha of Villages on exceptionally exposed granite slopes in the southern Beaujolais hills above Denicé, where they have been for generations.
Bourgogne Pinot Noir is new and from their own 1 hectare vineyard of young vines, which are south-facing on chalky soil at an altitude of 200m, two miles from their cellars. It is aged 90% in tank and 10% in barrique. It is fragrant and soft with round fruit. Excellent value and very drinkable.
