Even when coming from their own distillery, Ardnamurchan, only the very finest casks are fit to bottle under the Adelphi Selection name. This limited release of spirit distilled in 2018 is a collaboration with luxury travel company Maclean and Bruce, a bottling of two sherry hogsheads - one peated and one unpeated at cask strength.
Although 6 year old whisky may sound young, when those years were entirely spent in first-fill sherry casks it delivers a huge amount of flavour. Christmas cake and honey aromas are woven beautifully into the bonfire smoke and balsamic notes from the peat and the palate has a wonderfully voluptuous warmth - this is an after dinner whisky par excellence.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
