Winemaker Vanessa Cherruau gracefully crafts this wine on the slopes of the Butte de Chaume, an illustrious appellation exclusively designated for the production of sweet white wines like Quarts de Chaume and Coteaux de Layon. Cherruau has just 3ha of red grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the majority of which go into this outstanding wine. All of her vines are farmed under organic and biodynamic certification.
A riper wine than the 2021, this vintage is an equal blend of the two varieties. Fermented and aged in concrete tanks, it retains the stunning pure fruit and silky tannin we adored in the previous vintage.
Ripe raspberry, blackberry and red plum fruit with hints of pepper and green herbs. The palate has lovely soft breadth, filling every corner of the mouth before fresh and juicy acidity rings clear through the moreish finish. A winner with roast lamb, game dishes and mushrooms.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
