Bacco was created from a deep admiration for the sophistication and luxury of Italy’s Super Tuscan wines. The estate’s mission is to craft top-end South African wines that offer a sense of indulgence and memorable experience.
Located right beside Vilafonté, the vineyard benefits from exceptional terroir, something that clearly comes through in the character of the wines.
Vermentino itself is a rare single-varietal wine in South Africa, yet it has adapted remarkably well to the soils and climate of the Bacco Estate, showing lively energy and an authentic Mediterranean personality. Naturally aromatic and vibrant, the grape brings a fresh, coastal charm.
Bacco’s Vermentino stands out for its delicate floral and fruity aromas. The nose bursts with peach blossom and jasmine, then unfolds into notes of lemon, apricot, and pineapple. On the palate, flavours of yellow apple and almond are intertwined with the citrus tones promised on the nose. The wine is full but bright, with a slightly pithy texture. Its lively acidity leaves the mouth refreshed while lingering hints of lemon carry through to the finish.
