The Agricola Marrone winery is based in the famous village of La Morra. The family has been working in the area for 4 generations now and have built a reputation for creating expressive and powerful wines. This one comes from 60+ year old vines in a specific site, Bussia, one of the top rated sites in the whole of Barolo.
Classic, top quality Barolo, with the stunning perfume this region is so famed for. Dried cherries, christmas cake spices, white pepper and strawberry notes with mineral iron-like hint. Bold and grippy on the palate, it is sure to drink well over the coming years with roast meats, mushroom risotto or hard cheeses.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
