Argadens is superbly well situated on one of the highest hills of the rolling Entre-Deux-Mers wine region (one of the five highest points, in fact, of the Gironde.)
The original name of this property, parts of which date back to the 12th and 16th centuries, was La Salle d'Argadens. It became Château Argadens in 2002, when it was bought by Maison Sichel.
This wine has an elegant balance of ripe dark fruit aromas, including blackberries and plums, complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and spice from oak aging. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a refreshing acidity. The wine finishes with a hint of graphite and a touch of warmth, making it a refined and approachable Bordeaux red.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
