This Bordeaux from the Entre-Deux-Mers area, is a 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Over the years, Chateau Gabelot has been steadily converting to organic production with the 2020 vintage now certified as organic.
An approachable Bordeaux, that is easy to drink but also offers a lot of complexity. Medium-bodied, on the nose, you’re hit with wonderful red fruit and slight inkiness to it. Then you’re hit with herbal and mineral notes from the Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, you get a wonderful silky texture. The tannins are subtle and they gently coat the mouth, leading to a fantastic, long finish.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
