A very exciting new addition to our Portuguese range, Cas'Amaro is a small 4.5ha estate on the Atlantic coast north of Lisbon. Planting this special site in 2016, they opted for 8 local varieties suited to the maritime climate and unique former sea-floor limestone soil. Wanting to maintain the natural harmony they have farmed according to organic principles from the beginning. The wines are being made by renowned oenologist Jorge Pascoa.
Madame Pio is their top white, a blend of majority Arinto with Sercial, aged for nine months in new French oak barrels.
Complex, with spicy and creamy oak notes alongside fresh lime and grapefruit aromas. On the palate it has a broad and waxy texture, well balanced by bright acidity and lots of minerality. A rich and broad finish lingers with this wide spectrum of flavours, leaving a delightful impression. It makes a fantastic partner to rich seafood stews or paellas, or alternatively with cheese and charcuterie. Limited production of just 1226 bottles!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
