The English Gent opens with a lively, inviting nose that captures the fresh elegance typical of England’s finest fizz. Crisp green apple, conference pear, and zesty lime peel are joined by delicate notes of white blossom and freshly baked pastry. A subtle thread of chalky minerality evokes the English countryside.
On the palate, the wine is bright and vivacious, Full of cirus fruit, quince, lemon tart, and crunchy orchard fruits with a zesty acidity that gives the wine its trademark precision. This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
