100% Grenache from the Bot-River area in the Cape South Coast, South Africa.
The minimal intervention philosophy promotes terroir driven wine. The Grenache vines are situated on southerly slopes, on sandstone soils which induce low yields but high flavour concentration. Exposure to the cool sea breezes ensures slow and extended grape ripening.
The hand picked grapes are left to soak for 4 days, with 40% being whole bunch. After spontaneous fermentation the wine is matured for 11 months, using 30% new French oak barrels.
A light bodied wine; crunchy and fresh. Aromas of rose and cherry with raspberry follow through on the palate. The grippy and saline finish makes this wine incredibly morish.
