Jamesport Vineyard Merlot Red Hook Winery 2017

Red Hook is an Urban Winery in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. It was founded in 2008 by Mark Snyder and aims to uncover and highlight the best vineyard sites in New York state.Here they produce wines that reflect the climate, geology, and viticulture that make New York unlike any other growing region in the world.

This 100% merlot undergoes spontaneous fermentation in open-top puncheons and is then aged for 21 months in neutral French Oak.

It is medium in body, with notes of plums, cherries, black pepper and soft leather. It is a  fresh, elegant expression of Merlot, silky, with vibrant bramble and fig with with floral overtones. There’s full ripeness and great balance, A very drinkable lunchtime wine.
