High alt, un-oaked Chardonnay from the Languedoc, North-West of Carcassone, The grapes grow on a limestone ridge producing complex and elegant wines.
Soft on the palate with pear fruit and a honeyed character from time on lees. Minerality follows in a fresh and long finish.
Winemakers Stephanie & Olivier Ramé, a husband and wife team, are the third generation at Maison Ventenac. Their vineyards are in Cabardès, the only Languedoc appellation that allows both Atlantic and Mediterranean grape varieties. Ventenac-Cabardès is famed for its limestone, chalky soils, which they say gives their wines their saline & fresh characters.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
