The ‘MAMA’ Zweigelt is the product of hand-harvested grapes from a single, specific plot – chosen for the aromatic profile and freshness of the grapes produced, with 14 days’ carbonic maceration on whole clusters. The wine is then gently pressed over several days into old 228 litre barrels, where it was allowed to ferment fully to dryness, and where it spends the next six months.
It is bottled unfined and unfiltered, and the result is a juicy, low-tannin red bursting with sappy acidity, wild red cherry, and damson aromas. This would be excellent with chargrilled vegetables and lightly seasoned duck.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
