Mezcal Amaras are an artisanal producer of agave spirit, committed to a sustainable and holistic approach they call 'From Seed to Sip'. They give back to their local community with up to 20% of net sales supporting local initiatives in Oaxaca, farm their agave organically and only harvest wild agave when there is a strict replanting plan to preserve the population.
The Mezcal Verde presents a more affordable option for those looking to try artisan Mezcal, made in the exact same way as Amaras' more premium offerings. 8 year old Espadin Agave is roasted in their conical stone ovens over wood, giving it a distinctive smoky tang, before crushing and fermenting in pinewood tanks and distillation in copper pot stills.
A lovely balanced Mezcal with aromas of peppermint, celery, black pepper and woodsmoke. Clean and rounded palate, with a gentle sweetness and balanced smoke. Delicious as a sipper, or as an outstanding ingredient in Mezcal cocktails.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
