Initially professionals in other fields, they had much to learn about winemaking when arriving in Stellenbosch. Through hard work and support from friends both near and far, They have created a line of wines to be proud of, and a community that spans the globe. Family is the heart and soul of this business. M’hudi’s story embodies the promise of South Africa, found in its townships, vineyards, and everywhere in between.
This modern day Shiraz is a fine example of a wine made from vineyards grown under Dry land Conditions. As is the case when using small berries, this wine shows a voluptuous bouquet and a rich finish. The nose is spicy with hint of white pepper, cloves, fresh tobacco and violets. The palate shows tones of mulberries, cherries and fynbos, while the structure is broad with delicate tannins and a fresh finish. Drink this wine now or mature for up to 12 years and beyond.
Pair with likes of matured blue cheese, flame grilled steaks, beef casserole or blueberry cheese cake.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
