Created by pioneering Argentine winemaker Mauricio Lorca, the Opalo range is all about a philosophy of purity, freshness and elegance, with no oak ageing to mask the character of the grape. First gaining recognition in the early 2000s, these wines offer a refreshing alternative to heavily extracted, oak-driven reds, focusing instead on varietal expression and drinkability.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic expression of the variety, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant and plum complemented by hints of capsicum and wild herbs. The palate is juicy and mouth-watering, with lively acidity, exceptionally fine tannins and a beautifully persistent finish. Fermented in small concrete tanks over ten days, the wine retains its vibrant fruit and natural freshness without the influence of oak.
An elegant, food-friendly red that is delicious alongside grilled steak, roast lamb, burgers or rich tomato-based pasta dishes.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
