Orange Rosé Pinot Gris 2022 Tsarev Brod Winery

Tsarev Brod Winery is situated in the village of Tsarev Brod, within the Shumen municipality, near Europe's sole rock formation designated as a UNESCO cultural and natural heritage site – the Madara Rider.

The  journey in creating this winery began in 2001 when their family, comprised of agronomists deeply connected to the land, embarked on planting their first hectare of vineyards. Over time, the vineyard has expanded to cover 27 hectares. They understand that constructing cellars and buildings can be accomplished swiftly, but nurturing perennial vines demands patience and meticulous care. They also firmly believe that quality raw materials are the cornerstone of any promising winery.

Made by friends of ours, this signature creation is a funky natural wine crafted from the renowned Pinot Gris (Pinot Grigio) white grape variety. Only 120 bottles were produced and it defies traditional categorization – it's neither white, nor pink, nor red; it's an enchanting orange rosé. The wine undergoes a 30-day fermentation process, utilizing the sweet grapes meticulously harvested in early September from vineyards near the town of Shumen on the Black Sea Coast. This exceptional and invigorating wine serves as the ideal prelude to any meal, complementing light appetizers, pasta, and seafood with finesse. A deep pink, unfiltered rosé of the Pinot Gris grape variety. This wine is dry, light-bodied, and racy, with a rich aroma of wild plums.
