Orgo is a small family-owned winery that produces high quality wines made in traditional qvevri vessels (clay amphora) for vinification and maturation. The winery is run by Temuri Dakishvili, the Dakishvili family’s fourth generation winemaker. His father, Giorgi, is credited as one of the most skilled and influential winemakers in Georgia.
This Orgo red wine is made from 80 year old Saperavi vines and is fermented and aged in the traditional Qvevri (Large clay jars). The grapes are from Kurdgelauri and Tsinandali villages in the Telavi district, on the right bank of the Alazani River.
A unique and full bodied wine with aromas of pomegranate and blackcurrant on the nose, with a hint of chocolate and spice and well integrated tannins on the palate.

Whilst packing up to move internationally a friend died and I needed to organise an emergency case of something luscious to support the wake. Not only did their wonderful team organise and deliver within an incredibly tight deadline they drafted a message for me too which I approved. Wonderful!!

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
