Ethereal, focused Syrah from the rocky hillsides of Napa's most exclusive growing site, Pritchard Hill.
The beauty of this wine lies in the tiny sizes and large quantities of batches in the blend, with higher proportions of whole bunches adding savoury complexity to some lots. The destemmed bunches ensure that bright Syrah fruit shines through but the structure is wonderful, not just from those stems but also fermentation in Burgundy and Bordeaux casks.
"OVID’s 2012 Syrah is fabulous... The flavors are bright, focused and articulate throughout, with chiseled fruit and fabulous overall balance. Syrah on this hillside site has a personality all of its own that is quite different from other parts of the valley. Readers will need to give the 2012 a few years to develop more flavor complexity. Even today, OVID’s Syrah is hugely delicious."

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
