Made by Pierre & Antonin, Petit Sauvage is a perfect expression of their commitment to sustainable, low-intervention winemaking. Working in the vineyards around Carcassonne, they champion disease-resistant grape varieties, allowing them to farm with minimal chemical input while preserving soil health and biodiversity.
The region’s unique position between Atlantic and Mediterranean influences brings warm, flavour-building days alongside cooling winds and elevation, helping to retain freshness and balance. The wine is made from Souvignier Gris, a hardy variety perfectly suited to this environment, and produced with minimal intervention, no added sulphites, and thoughtful choices throughout, from locally made glass to natural cork closures.
Dry, crisp and lightly aromatic, with notes of citrus, pear and subtle herbal hints. The palate is fresh and clean, with a gentle texture and a bright, refreshing finish that keeps the wine lively and highly drinkable.
A great match for grilled vegetables, light salads, mezze, or seafood, and equally enjoyable on its own as a fresh, easy-drinking orange wine.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
