The Prieler Family have a 20 hectare estate, growing mainly Blaufrankish and Burgundian grape varieties. ‘See’ means Lake, referring to the Neusiedlersee Lake, which the Seeberg vineyard overlooks. The Pinot blanc vines were planted here at least 60 years ago, on marine limestone and mica-schist soils and there is subsequently a fresh minerality to the wines from this site. The organically grown fruit is allowed to macerate for three days on the skins to extract the optimum fruit profile. Although a delicate wine, the flavours unfold with juicy ripe pear, apple blossom and delicate spice.
