Actor Kyle MacLachlan grew up in Yakima, Washington. His serious interest in wine was sparked when director David Lynch gifted him a bottle of Château Lynch-Bages for landing the part of Paul Atreides in Dune. With his father (a keen gardener and tender of fruit trees) they discovered the wines from Eastern Washington and eventually embarked on a collaboration with Eric Dunham, winemaker in Walla Walla, Columbia Valley.
The 2022 Baby Bear Syrah is a concentrated, expressive wine that captures the vintage's balance and intensity. The aromatics lead with blackberry, blueberry, and ripe plum, lifted by notes of violet, lavender, and cracked pepper. On the palate, layers of black cherry, boysenberry, and dark cocoa unfold, complemented by subtle hints of savory herbs and black olives. Fine-grained tannins provide structure while lively acidity adds lift, creating a rich, balanced impression. The finish is long, polished, and vibrant, echoing the wine’s depth.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
