A beautifully mature vintage Armagnac from one of the region’s most trusted names, this 1976 release captures the heritage and remarkable depth of flavour. Produced by the Guasch family, whose roots in Gascony stretch back to the 12th century, Baron de Sigognac is based at Château de Bordeneuve in the heart of Bas Armagnac.
Drawn from estate-grown Ugni Blanc and Baco, the wine is distilled using a traditional Armagnac alembic, a short column still that preserves richness and character in the spirit. Aged slowly over decades, this vintage reflects the time and craftsmanship in every glass.
The nose is elegant and inviting, with floral notes, ripe grape and soft vanilla. On the palate, it is rich, smooth and beautifully evolved, revealing layers of stewed fig, butterscotch and delicate hints of crème de violette. The texture is velvety, with a long, warming finish that lingers with gentle sweetness and complexity.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome.
