Cà dei Maghi is a small estate nestled in the rolling hills of Valpolicella, near the vineyards close to the town of Fumane. The Fasoli Fedrigo family began their winemaking tradition in Negrar in the 1800s. In the 1950s, Granny Luigina and Grandpa Fernando started producing wine at Cà Dei Maghi, while also establishing ‘Rama,’ now the family’s agritourism. Today, Mari, Giovanna, Paolo, and Ivana continue the family’s wine and culinary heritage.
The 2017 Camparsi Amarone from Cà dei Maghi pours a deep ruby-garnet. On the nose, it opens with rich aromas of ripe cherry and dark chocolate, layered with notes of coffee, sweet spices, and a hint of oak. The palate is full-bodied and warm, showing concentrated dried fruit - think black cherry and plum, balanced by velvety tannins and a subtle bitterness.
Flavours of cocoa and coffee meld with spice, giving a slightly savoury edge to the sweetness. It’s a powerful yet elegant Amarone, with good depth and ageing potential.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
