Domaine Alexis Pollier Pouilly Fuissé 2022

Alexis is emerging as a notable figure in the Burgundy wine community, crafting exceptional wines on his compact estate, which he established using the small plots passed down from his father. Hailing from the renowned Pollier family, who boast five generations of winemaking heritage in Fuissé, Alexis has dedicated himself to vineyard cultivation since the tender age of 20, meticulously tending to his vines with a keen eye for detail. Central to his approach is a commitment to biodiversity, reflected in his vineyards spread across various prestigious appellations including Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint Véran, Mâcon Milly Lamartine, and Macon Village.

From the clay-limestone of Pouilly-Fuisse, fermented and aged for 12 months in oak barrels, this is an exceptionally refined white burgundy from this rising star. Beautifully defined lemon, tangerine and peach fruit are complemented by wisps of honeysuckle and marzipan on the nose. The palate combines a lovely creaminess with robust acidity, making for a superbly balanced and silky palate that feels generous without being overly heavy. It can be a hard line to walk and Pollier has done it magnificently!
