Domaine Horgelus is one of Gascony’s most dynamic and respected producers, run by the Grassa family. Known for their precision, freshness and consistency, they focus on expressive wines that reflect the region’s cool nights and sun-filled days. While the Domaine built its reputation on vibrant whites, their reds follow the same philosophy of pure fruit, balance and approachability.
The nose is immediately inviting, with vibrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, lifted by a gentle floral note and a hint of soft spice. On the palate, it’s supple and refreshing, offering crunchy red fruit flavours, silky tannins and a lively streak of acidity that keeps everything bright and balanced. There’s no heaviness here, just clean, honest drinking with a softly rounded finish.
Fresh red berries on the nose with hints of cherry and raspberry. The palate is light to medium-bodied, smooth and juicy, with soft tannins, bright acidity and a clean, fruit-driven finish.
A red that works just as well lightly chilled as it does at room temperature. Perfect with charcuterie, grilled chicken, pizza, or summer salads. Also excellent slightly chilled as an apéritif red.

This was my second visit to Butlers Wine Cellar and on both occasions the service has been wonderful. The young lady assisted me and my wife on a number of purchases of wine and sherry and seemed very knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. Having tasted them she was spot on with her comments on each bottle. I would highly recommend anyone to use this shop.
